It’s that time of year when couriers rush around town trying to deliver as many new iPhones as possible to the masses. We already received our iPhone 15 Pro Max which also completed its review, but we also received another package containing the iPhone 15 Plus. Let’s see what this one brings to the table before its full review.
We chose the blue version of the 15 Plus, but as you can see, the color is really washed out to the point that you could easily mistake it for white. Apple really toned down the color options of the iPhone 15 and 15 Plus this year, making the lighter shades much less exciting. The camera island actually has a more visible blue tint than the rest of the back.

The back now features frosted glass which is a nice addition and makes the phone easier to hold and less prone to smudging. While we’re talking about the rear, we should mention the new 48MP main sensor which will produce the same 24MP images by default, just like the Pro models. We’ll be sure to test how it performs compared to the 15 Pro models and also the 14 series of last year.
Moving our attention to the front, we have the 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen in the same size as the 14 Plus, but this time with a dynamic island. The screen is also brighter and can reach a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits outdoors. The 15 Plus certainly looks more modern than notched iPhones of the past.
The phone is very snappy like all iPhones, and the Apple A16 Bionic chip from last year’s iPhone Pros is sure to keep it working for years to come. Let’s not forget the connector on the 15 Plus phone: it’s Type-C (yay!) but it’s still limited to USB 2.0 speeds (boo!). Apple has included a nice braided USB-C cable.
