Apple’s early entry into leaflets will not come from the iPhone but from the iPad. So says CCS Insight’s annual forecast report.

Apple could launch a foldable iPad in 2024 in a move against the trend of most other manufacturers. The rationale behind CCS’s report is that a foldable iPhone would be risky for Apple as it could cannibalize sales of the conventional iPhone. The report continues that Apple should value an eventual foldable iPhone for at least $ 2,500 so that it is free from the current iPhone Pro Max setup.

According to CCS head of research, Ben Wood, Apple would like to avoid any glitches with a foldable phone and instead prefer to “dip your toes” into foldable devices via a tablet.

Other sources, most notably famed Apple insider and analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, have said Apple could launch a foldable iPhone in 2024. So the consensus is that Apple will premiere a foldable device in two years’ time.

Apple's first foldable will be an iPad in 2024, an internal 5G modem coming in 2025

The CCS report goes on to say that Apple will introduce its own 5G modem in 2025. The move would allow Apple, which currently relies on Qualcomm’s 5G modems, to integrate its modem into the Series A chipset for a single-chip solution in i its devices.

Apple acquired Intel’s modem business in 2019 and is reportedly continuing to develop its internal modem capabilities.
