Samsung’s public beta test of One UI 5.0 based on Android 13 reached the Galaxy S21 family of devices in late August, when it became available in Korea and the UK. As of now, you can also register your device for the beta program in India.

Currently, you can enroll your Galaxy S21, S21 + or S21 Ultra in the beta program in India only if it has been purchased unlocked. As always, the Samsung Members app must be installed to register. Then enter it and locate the rather obvious banner you will see inside, which advertises the One UI Beta program for One UI 5.

So it comes down to entering your details and after that you will receive the first beta build as a software update within the next few hours or days at the most. You will then also receive the later beta versions in the same way and the final version when it is released.

Note that you should expect problems and bugs to appear here and there, as this is pre-release software, so if you can’t live with it, it’s best to avoid joining the beta program. Samsung’s release notes mention that Google Pay won’t work on the initial build – it’s hilarious to see that the company hasn’t kept up with Google’s ever-changing naming convention – it’s now called the Google Wallet. Either way, it won’t work and other features or apps may not work as well.
