Preparation

1

Remove the outer wrapping of the Mars bars. Place the bars on a cutting board and cut them into coarse pieces.

2

Pour the butter and the cut Mars bars into a glass bowl, suitable for bain-marie cooking. Place a pan full of water on low heat and place the glass bowl over the pan.

3

Melt everything in a bain-marie, stirring with a wooden spoon until you obtain a homogeneous and smooth mixture.

4

In a second bowl, pour the puffed rice. When the Mars and butter mixture has melted completely, pour it over the rice and mix quickly with a spatula or wooden spoon.

5

Line a 22cm diameter bowl or cake tin with cling film. Pour the mixture inside and mash it with the back of a spoon or spatula.

6

Cover the surface with other contact film, i.e. one that directly touches the mixture. Place the cake in the refrigerator for two hours so that it compacts. Once the resting time has elapsed, unwrap the cake and turn it onto a serving plate.

7

Cut the milk chocolate into pieces, pour it into a bowl and melt this too in a bain-marie, placing the bowl on the pan with boiling water and stirring until completely melted. As soon as it is ready, use a teaspoon to decorate the surface of the Mars cake to your taste.

Tips and tricks

You can use the mold you prefer to make your cake, even a rectangular or square one. The important thing is to pay a layer of compound of at least 2 centimetersso as to obtain rather thick pieces.

You can cut the Mars Cake into small pieces and wrap them with baking paper or colored cake paper, so you can give them as snacks.

Using butter will help the Mars Cake not harden too much. If, however, you were to keep it in the refrigerator, we recommend that you do so before serving it leave it for a few minutes at room temperature.

We recommend using natural puffed rice to make this cake. You can use the rice crispiesbut you risk it being too harsh.

Keep the heat low during bain-marie cooking to ensure perfect melting of the Mars bars.

storage

You can store the Mars cake under a cake dome, out of the refrigerator, for 2 days maximum. We do not recommend freezing it.
