Ferrero Rocher cake, good to go crazy

If you are looking for a stuffed cake for your birthday or that of someone you particularly care about, the Ferrero Rocher cake is for you. Its preparation, contrary to what one might think when seeing it, is quite simple. It consists of one;base of cocoa sponge cake, a filling of Nutella, cream and wafer (the same for the topping) and finished with chopped hazelnuts and Ferrero Rocher. I suggest you to start preparation on time of the cake: two days before, prepare the sponge cake so that it will be able to cool down well. The day before, prepare the creams and fill them. Transfer it to the refrigerator where the flavors will have time to blend. It is not a properly cheap dessert, given the presence of hazelnuts, chocolates and Nutella, but it will certainly be of great effect.

Ingredients for 8 people

  • eggs: 5
  • 00 flour: 100 g
  • bitter cocoa: 30 g
  • starch: 30 g
  • sugar: 160 g
  • yeast: 1 tbsp
  • ferrero rocher: to taste
  • mascarpone: 250 g
  • nutella: 250 g
  • fresh cream: 200 g
  • hazelnut waffer: 100 g
  • hazelnuts in grains: 150 g
  • milk: 100 ml
  • Preparation: 2 hours
  • Cooking: 50 minutes
  • Total: 2 hours, 50 minutes

Preparation

Put the eggs at room temperature in the mixer bowl.

Add the sugar.

Run the machine at full power with the wire hook mounted. Work until the mixture has quadrupled in volume. The time varies according to the power of the engine.

Then add the sifted flour, starch and cocoa and mix them gently by hand with a spatula.

Pour the dough into a buttered and floured 22-24 cm diameter pan.

Cook at 170 ° C for 50 minutes. Once ready, let the sponge cake cool, preferably overnight.

Dedicate yourself to the preparation of the cream. Mix the nutella and mascarpone.

Whip the cream until stiff.

Add the cream, stirring gently so that the mixture does not come apart.

Cut the sponge cake in half and soak it with the milk. Help yourself with a kitchen brush.

Crumble the wafers with your hands.

Place a third of the cream on the sponge cake disc. Add the wafers and close.

Cover the cake with the remaining cream and decorate the edges with chopped hazelnuts.
Complete with more grains and chocolates.

The Ferrero Rocher cake is possible keep in the fridge for no more than 2 days in a hermetically sealed container.

Advice

If you haven’t chopped hazelnuts don’t worry, because you can easily make it at home by chopping dried fruit with the mixer. Always use quality products for your cake.

Instead of the classic Nutella, you can use the homemade hazelnut cream. Your Ferrero Rocher Cake will be amazing.

To give more crunchiness to your cake, you can add the chopped hazelnuts also in the filling.
