The beta launch of One UI 5.0 is expanding into new countries: After becoming available in Germany last week, Samsung has allowed phones in the US and South Korea to download it with other regions “planned in the coming months” .
The beta is still only available for the Galaxy S 2022 trio: S22, S22 + and S22 Ultra. The company didn’t disclose its roadmap for adding more models to the mix, but it did highlight the key features of One UI 5.0, which offers customization, security, and accessibility features.

With the new version you can choose from 16 preset color themes based on your background. You can save space on your home screen by stacking widgets on top of each other, creating a page view that you can scroll through.

Multilingual users will be able to set multiple preferred languages for apps with One UI 5. In addition, more advanced controls are available to block notifications that distract from apps.
The camera app allows new users to use the Pro and Pro Video modes with helpful tips and tricks on how to use the various camera functions and controls. It also teaches users about the different lenses on board and offers a more responsive zoom bar.
Security is also an important part of this release, the new Security & Privacy dashboard will detect issues and recommend solutions. Several accessibility features have also been added, including audio descriptions of videos.

These are just some of the new features of One UI 5, Samsung promises more details soon. Many Galaxy devices are expected to get version 5 as they are set for three major OS updates, while the recent flagship Galaxy S, Z, and Tab S models will receive four updates instead.
