Samsung, which released its flagship S22 series in February, is known for keeping the same audio specs in its flagship models. The release of the Galaxy S22 (Exynos) series is no different.
Like on the Galaxy S22 Ultra (Exynos), the Samsung Galaxy S22 (Exynos) has two speakers that produce “surround sound with Dolby Atmos technology”. Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus are included. As for recording, the S22 (Exynos) has Zoom-in MIC (Audio zoom), which Samsung describes as “an audio recording function that focuses on the direction of interest using a combination of 3 integrated MICs during video recording”.
We subjected the Samsung Galaxy S22 (Exynos) to our rigorous SBMARK Audio test suite to measure its performance both when recording sound using its built-in microphones, and when playing audio through its speakers. In this review, we’ll break down how it fared across a variety of tests and several common use cases.

The overall SBMARK Audio score of 71 for the Samsung Galaxy S22 (Exynos) comes from the playback and recording scores and their respective secondary scores.
While the overall score of the Galaxy S22 (Exynos) matches that of the S22 Ultra (Exynos), the S22 gained a few points in the secondary recording score over the Ultra, particularly in tone, mainly due to better performance. when recording noisy environments such as an electronic concert The Galaxy S22 (Exynos) also did better than the S22 Ultra (Exynos) at selfie video recording.
In playback, however, the S22 (Exynos) falls slightly short of the S22 Ultra (Exynos) in terms of tone, space and volume, mainly due to the Ultra’s better amplitude performance and low-end extension.
