YouTube just announced that channel handles are coming to both users and channel creators so they can connect with each other more easily. Those are similar to Instagram handles and are uniquely assigned to each profile. The launch of the feature will take place in stages, so it may take a while for everyone to have a chance to choose a handle of their own.

YouTube introduces unique channel handles, just like Instagram

YouTube previously introduced unique channel URLs, but handles will make it easier to tag someone in comments, videos, and the handle will also appear on YouTube shorts. Another added benefit of having a handle is that it is recognized by the community. Unlike channel names, handles are unique.

Each creator will have the ability to choose their own “@handle” after receiving an email indicating that the time has come. After November 14, those who have not selected a handle will be assigned an automatically generated one based on the channel name. It can still be changed later, of course.

In addition to the handles. YouTube now allows all channels to choose a URL and removes the requirement of having at least 100 subscribers to assign a unique URL.
