Xiaomi has switched to Google’s Wear OS for the Watch 2 Pro, and it’s a solid smart wearable ready to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Watch6 Classic. Furthermore, the Xiaomi watch costs €270 for the Bluetooth model and €330 for the LTE-ready one – the Samsung watch exceeds the €400 threshold.

Get the watch in black with a fluoroelastomer strap or silver with a leather strap and Xiaomi’s proprietary wireless charger.

In the foreground the Xiaomi Watch 2 Pro has the standard 1.43-inch 466x466px OLED display with a maximum of 600 nits. It is housed in a 46mm casing. Xiaomi has opted for the brand new 4nm Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Plus chipset, which means the Watch 2 Pro should be suitable for some OS updates. It also works smoothly and quickly.

There is a rotating crown flanked by two pushers on the right side of the watch. The crown is very smooth to turn and is easy to get used to. Xiaomi has equipped the Watch 2 Pro with a skin temperature sensor, a body composition sensor that until now was only available on the Galaxy Watch series and a dual-frequency GPS, more similar to the more expensive Garmin watches.

Finally, Watch 2 Pro packs a powerful 495 mAh battery, a full 70 mAh larger than the Galaxy Watch6 Classic’s battery. Xiaomi claims that the Watch 2 Pro could last up to 65 hours on a single charge in Bluetooth-only mode, which is impressive for a Wear OS device.
