Xiaomi went ahead and announced its Redmi 13 series in China today. The series consists of three members: Redmi Note 13, Note 13 Pro and the top of the range Note 13 Pro+ which we will talk about in more detail here.
Redmi 13 Pro+ in purple, black and white
Starting with the design, Xiaomi has opted for a curved screen on the Pro+ and a revised camera island tempo with vegan leather back on the purple variant and AG frosted glass back on the black and white variants. Note 13 Pro+ is also the first Redmi phone with IP68 protection rating.

On the front there is a 6.67-inch curved OLED display with 1220 x 2712 px resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate. The panel can output 12-bit colors and features PWM dimming at 1,920 Hz. It can reach a brightness of peaks at up to 1800 nits in auto mode and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. You also get an optical in-display fingerprint scanner and a 16MP front camera.

Xiaomi has chosen MediaTek’s Dimensity 7200-Ultra chipset paired with up to 16GB of LDDR5 RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Xiaomi has also added a massive 4000mm² graphite sheet and a VC heat sink.
The back features Samsung’s ISOCELL HP3, the same 200 MP sensor (1/1.4″ size and 0.56 µm pixels) used on last year’s Redmi Note 12 Pro+. The 8″ ultrawide module is also carried over. MP and a 2 MP macro cam.

The software front is covered by MIUI 14 based on Android 13 while the battery reaches 5,000 mAh and has 120W fast charging. Other noteworthy extras include stereo speakers and an infrared port.
Redmi Note 13 Pro+
Redmi Note 13 Pro+ starts at CNY 1,999 ($273) for the 12/256 GB version and goes up to CNY 2,299 ($314) for the 16/512 GB model. Open sales in China start on September 26.
