The most anticipated camera behemoth in the smartphone world, the Xiaomi 13 Ultra will be officially launched on April 18th. The company has already said it will happen this month and has finally set the date.
The images reveal that it will once again have a huge circular camera island, but this time with four separate shooters. The 13 Ultra will be “a step above” the competition, not without a strategic partnership with camera company Leica.

The smartphone will have a new Leica Vario-Summicron lens and, from the lettering among the lenses, we assume that the main sensor will have an f/1.8 aperture in front, while the f/3.0 will be for the telephoto lens. There’s a dual LED flash on the left side of the camera island, which is slightly different from all the renders we’ve seen.
Speaking of renders, yesterday brought lighter ones, suggesting flat sides of the phone but 2.5D curved sides of the display. Specs-wise, we expect a 1-inch Sony IMX989 sensor for the 50MP main camera, a 50MP ultra-wide-angle camera, and two 50MP telephoto lenses: one with a periscope lens underneath for extra zoom, the other for vertical images.

The event is scheduled for 7pm in China, noon in London and 4.30pm in India. It’s a global launch, which means we could see launch dates and pricing for international markets.
