Xiaomi today hosted its second ground launch event of the year in India, where it presented the Xiaomi 12 Pro and Xiaomi Pad 5 to Indian customers.

Xiaomi 12 Pro is available in two memory configurations in India: 8GB / 256GB and 12GB / 256GB, priced at INR62,999 ($ 820 / € 775) and INR66,999 ($ 875, respectively) / € 825). However, with discounts and introductory offers, you can get both models for up to INR10,000 ($ 130 / € 125) cheaper. Xiaomi 12 Pro will go on sale in India starting May 2 via Mi.com, Mi Home stores, Amazon.in and other retail partners across the country.
Xiaomi 12 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC and immediately runs the Android 12-based MIUI 13. It sports a 6.73 “120 Hz AMOLED QHD + LTPO 2.0 screen, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The panel also has a reader of fingerprint underneath for biometric authentication and a hole in the center for the 32MP selfie camera.
On the back, we have a triple camera system comprising primary 50MP, 50MP ultrawide and 50MP telephoto units. Powering the entire package is a 4,600mAh battery with 120W wired, 50W wireless, and 10W reverse wireless charging.

The rest of the highlights of the Xiaomi 12 Pro include four speakers tuned by Harman Kardon, Dolby Atmos support, Hi-Res Audio certification, 5G connectivity and an NFC chip.

The Xiaomi Pad 5 was unveiled last August and finally debuted in India with two memory options: 6GB / 128GB and 6GB / 256GB. The former is priced at INR26,999 ($ 350 / € 330) and the latter will cost you INR28,999 ($ 380 / € 360). However, both versions will be available for INR2,000 ($ 26 / € 24) less for a limited time and you will also receive a Discount of INR2,000 ($ 26 / € 24) if you purchase the tablet using your HDFC Bank debit / credit card.
Xiaomi Pad 5 will be available for purchase starting May 3 through Mi.com, Mi Home stores, Amazon.in and other retail partners. Xiaomi has also introduced the Smart Pen and Pad 5 keyboard in India, but has not disclosed their prices yet.

Speaking of specs, the Xiaomi Pad 5 comes with the Snapdragon 860 chip, starts the MIUI 13 for Pad and packs an 11 “QHD + LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate.
And since it’s a tablet, we don’t have a multi-camera setup like smartphones, but there is still a single 13MP camera on the back of the Pad 5 and an 8MP drive on the front for selfies and video calling.
Xiaomi Pad 5 also has four speakers and supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. It has an 8,720mAh battery under the hood with 33W charging support, but the supplied adapter can only go up to 22.5W.
