Lava introduced the Blaze 5G last year and it was the cheapest 5G smartphone in the country at the time. It came with 4GB of RAM and today the company revealed that it is launching a more powerful version.

The new Lava Blaze 5G comes with 6GB of RAM and is already listed on Amazon for the introductory price of INR 11,499 ($140) which will later increase to INR 11,999 ($145).

The Blaze 5G has a 6.5-inch LCD with a waterdrop notch and 720p resolution, as well as a 90Hz refresh rate. It is powered by a Dimension 700 chipset, while the RAM can be expanded with so-called “RAM virtual” which borrows memory from available storage, which is again 128GB here.

Other notable specs include a large 5,000mAh battery and a 50MP camera.

The Lava Phone is 5G compliant, but that doesn’t mean many people will be able to use it. Jio is still developing the next generation network in 100 major cities, while Airtel is located in “key cities and locations”.

The Blaze 5G is a future-proof smartphone, as both carriers have promised a proper 5G network by the end of 2023.
