There have been early reports regarding email verification, suggesting that the WhatsApp team has been working on an email verification system since August. The new verification method aims to apply an additional layer of security to user accounts. It will make hacking accounts a little more difficult.

While the rollout is rather limited for now, we expect the verification system to reach all users as soon as possible. As for the verification method itself, it seems like a simple process: just type your email and wait for a verification in your inbox. That’s all.
