Last week Nothing’s CEO, Carl Pei, announced the launch of a new sub-brand that will be called “CMF by Nothing”. This subsidiary will focus on affordable prices and “timeless design” and will start with two products: a smartwatch and a pair of earphones.

CMF has already registered these two products with the Bureau of Indian Standards: D395 (smart watch) and B163 (wireless headphones). This means that India will be among the first countries to welcome the new sub-brand.

Nothing has been in the country since its very first product, coincidentally a pair of TWS buds. But unless Nothing has significantly increased its internal security, that also means that CMF will be the first in the family to carry a smartwatch—we haven’t heard of a Nothing watch yet.

No details on this watch: Wear OS or one of the more limited platforms (offering longer battery life)? We should learn more as the products are certified and listed by the various agencies (always a leak or two).

Either way, a quick trip to the FCC shows that the manufacturer listed for the smartwatch has already built plenty of headphones (sold under JVC, HMDX, EMTEC, Blackweb, and other brands). However, our quick search turned up no smartwatches.

As for the manufacturer listed for headphones, they’ve already made headphones for Monster (Inspiration and iSport Spirit) and Cambridge Soundworks (Oontz BudZ).
