It’s the penultimate week of 2022, and we’re almost ready for 2023 and the phones it will bring. But before we write off 2022, let’s take a look at the top stories from the past seven days.
ZTE has announced the Nubia Z50 with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 and the 64MP IMX787 35mm primary camera that we loved so much on the Axon 40 Ultra. The Nubia Z50 is exclusive to China for now and starts at CNY 2,999 for the basic 8/128GB version.
The OnePlus 11, which will arrive on February 7, will have a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, 12GB or 16GB of RAM, a 4,870mAh battery, and a 50MP wide, 48MP ultrawide, and 32MP telephoto triple camera. There will be a 16MP selfie camera on the front.
We took another look at the official accessories of the Galaxy S23 series. The Galaxy S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra will launch on February 1st and will have a choice of accessories: leather cases, smart view covers, silicone cases, etc. The consensus is that the Galaxy S23 Ultra will be available in four colors at launch – Cream, Green, Lavender and Phantom Black.
Google’s Pixel roadmap will include the Pixel Tablet, which is expected to launch soon, as well as the Pixel 8 series in 2023 with support for offset HDR, the ability to capture different exposures at once with the same pixels. Since the current ISOCELL GN1 sensor inside the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro doesn’t support offset HDR, we expect Pixel 8 phones to have an ISOCELL GN2. The leaked roadmap goes on to say that the Pixel Fold will arrive at Google I/O in April or May.
