Vivo has quietly announced the Y17s smartphone in Singapore, which is a low-end phone with pretty basic specs and we’re not sure if it will make it outside of Singapore, but it probably will.

The vivo Y17s runs on a MediaTek Helio G85 chipset and is built around a 6.56-inch IPS LCD, 720p display with 60Hz refresh rate. And while that might not sound like much, Vivo advertises 840 nits of peak brightness, which should be enough for comfortable outdoor use even on a bright sunny day. There aren’t many storage variants to choose from, just the 6GB/128GB one. However, a microSD card slot is available.

As for the camera, the device features a 50MP f/1.8 rear camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor, while the selfie camera relies on an 8MP sensor paired with f/2.0 aperture.

The entire hardware is powered by a 5,000mAh battery, which supports a rather slow 15W charging. It also boots Funtouch OS 13 on top of Android 13. Other notable features include IP54 certification against splashes and dust.
