Two new vivo trademark listings have appeared on the EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) website, both likely referring to future foldable clamshell smartphones called the vivo V Flip and vivo S Flip.
As of now, the company has a standard foldable smartphone called the vivo X Fold2 and a vertical foldable one called the vivo X Flip. And given that these two are the flagship models, it’s quite possible that the future V Flip and S Flip models will be some sort of mid-range model.

Motorola recently launched its Razr 40 duo, with the vanilla one being a budget-oriented foldable and Samsung is said to be considering making cheaper foldables as well. So the rumor about two cheap flip smartphones doesn’t seem that far-fetched. Perhaps other OEMs are eyeing the yet untapped budget foldable segment.
As the foldable market matures and foldable screen technology becomes more accessible, we’ll start to see an influx of affordable foldable smartphones, and it looks like the trend is starting.
