News surfaced earlier this year about a new iQOO 12 phone from vivo with a 64MP telephoto lens, and today a reliable leakster confirmed it: we’re looking at an OmniVision 64B sensor with 3x telephoto in front and OIS.
The main camera will also have an OmniVision sensor – OV50H with 50 MP resolution and OIS, while the ultrawide camera will be equipped with a 50 MP Samsung ISOCELL JN1 sensor.

Digital chat station is usually correct with these types of initial leaks and we believe this is the real deal too. vivo is not yet ready to reintroduce an iQOO with a periscope lens for telephoto; the last time such a phone arrived six generations ago, when the iQOO 5 Pro 5G had an 8MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom.
However, bringing a 64MP camera with OIS (which the predecessor iQOO 11 Pro surprisingly lacked) is a big step forward. The iQOO brand was initially aimed at the gaming audience, but evolved into a series for power users. Combined with the new vivo V3 ISP, the new installment series should finally allow them a flagship camera experience.
