Tecno is apparently working on something called the Arc Interface: RGB lights on the back of the phone that turn on for new notifications. Here “the phone” seems to be the Tecno Pova 5, although there is the possibility that it is instead a different device.

Here’s a demo of Ishan Agarwal’s Arc, showing the light strips flashing to life for an incoming call:

Judging from the demo clip, the lights lack the fine-grained control that the Nothing Phone (2) has, but the Pova 5 is a low-end device. A fancier version could be created for more premium Tecnos.

An upcoming Tecno Pova phone will feature an ''Arc Interface'' - RGB lights on the back

The Pova 5 has a 6.78″ 120Hz IPS (FHD+) LCD and is powered by a Helio G99 chipset (up to 8/256GB of memory) and a large 6,000mAh battery with 45W wired-only charging This design is called “Turbo Mecha”.

By the way, the upcoming Tecno Pova Neo 3 also uses the Mecha design, but we don’t know if that will include lights or not (note: the Neo 3 design doesn’t include the dotted pattern next to the camera island, that’s why we think this both the Pova 5). The Pova 5 will be released later this month.
