Honor announced Magic Vs in November 2022, and the foldable will make its international debut on February 27 at MWC Barcelona. The company supplied a pre-production unit to the Jerry Rig Everything channel on YouTube, where Zack disassembles the leaflet and tells us all about his innovative hinge.

This is the first time that Honor sheds light on the meaning of its “4-component design” which reduces the number of components from 92 to just 4.

Zack reveals that magnesium elements are fused together and molded into the plastic frame, making the hinge stronger and 62% lighter than its Magic V predecessor.

Honor has used vertical metal slats to keep the folding screen in one plane without major creases, while also offering support on the vertical axis, and the thinness of the elements keeps the entire component reasonably light.

We can also see that the screen can work well outside the group, provided it’s not drilled in its sweet spot like Zack did.

The video also revealed that while Magic Vs doesn’t have an official IP rating, there is some dust and water protection around the speaker, SIM tray, and hinge connecting pins to the phone’s body.

The battery is divided into two cells: one with 2,930 mAh and the other with 2,070 mAh, for a total capacity of 5,000 mAh.
