Sony will unveil the next generation of its flagship TWS buds next week: the WF-1000XM5 will arrive on July 24 (Monday). The company still doesn’t reveal much about them, though since the “For Silence. For the sound. slogan it is quite clear that the focus will be on improving noise management.

There were multiple leaks on the XM5 model. The new buds will be smaller, tipping the scales to just 5.9g, down from 7.3g. In combination with the case, they will offer a longer battery life, up to 24 hours.

The buds themselves are said to feature 8.4mm Dynamic Driver X technology and are expected to be powered by proprietary processors. Combined with three microphones, these processors will handle active noise cancellation. For calls, bone conduction sensors and Precise Voice Pickup will make sure your voice is heard, even if you’re in a noisy environment.

There is some bad news, though. The Sony WF-1000XM5 is expected to cost €320. This is higher than the €280 introductory price of the WF-1000XM4 (it used to be $280 in the US, so we can expect the XM5 models to be $320).
