A previous leak suggested that the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip4 will bring a small battery capacity upgrade. Now the actual batteries have been photographed and it turns out that the update will be bigger than expected.

There are two batteries, both of which are manufactured by Samsung SDI. One has a nominal capacity of 2,555mAh, the other 1,040mAh. This brings the total to a nominal 3,595mAh, but the typical capacity will likely be labeled 3,700mAh. That would be a 400mAh increase over the Z Flip3 battery or a 12% increase in capacity.

It’s not huge, but it’s not nothing either, considering the 3D renders indicate the phone will be roughly the same size (a bit thicker – 7.2mm, compared to 6.9mm). Furthermore, it has the same battery capacity as the Galaxy S22.

The Galaxy Z Flip4 is rumored to receive another battery upgrade – charging speed will be increased up to 25W (from the Z Flip3’s 15W). This also corresponds to the S22.

Live photos of the new Flip leaked today showing the larger lid display and redesigned hinge. The Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4 are expected to be announced in early August, but Samsung has already started the mass production process, which has led to these leaks.
