Motorola previously unveiled a Moto G62 5G in June, but now the company has built a separate device of the same name for the Indian market. It brings more processing power, but it’s mostly the same phone. It is also similar to other Motos, we will talk about it shortly.

The new Moto G62 is powered by the Snapdragon 695 chipset, which replaces the Snapdragon 480+ of the previous G62. A quick comparison shows a newer node (6nm vs 8nm), newer CPU cores (2x Cortex-A78 and 6x A55 vs 2x A76 + 6x A55), plus the GPU is faster (despite both chipsets claiming “Adreno 619 “).

There are two configurations listed on Motorola India: one with 6GB of RAM and one with 8GB, both with 128GB of storage. This surpasses the original version, which only has 4GB of RAM. You also have a microSD slot (for cards up to 1TB), as long as you don’t plan on using a second SIM card. The phone runs “almost stock” Android 12 ready to use.

The last big change concerns the battery: the capacity is still 5,000mAh, but the charge rate has risen to 20W (compared to 15W, the “major change” may have been an exaggeration).

On top of all that, the phones are basically the same. They have a 6.5 “display with FHD + resolution (20: 9) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. The highlight is a 16 MP camera (f / 2.2, 1.0 µm native pixels, 2.0 µ with 4 in 1 binning ), which can record 1080p video at 30 fps.

Moving on to the other side, there is a 50 MP main camera (f / 1.8, 0.64 µm native pixels, 1.28 µm with 4 in 1 binning), an 8 MP ultra wide angle camera (118 °, f / 2.2, 1.12 µm) and a 2 MP macro camera. Wide and ultra wide cameras are also limited to 1080p video resolution (the main can do it at 60fps, the ultra wide at 30fps).

The Moto G62 has a plastic body with a water repellent design. It measures 8.6mm thick and weighs 184g. Continuing our tour, there is a fingerprint reader, a 3.5mm headphone jack (with an FM radio receiver) and a USB-C 2.0 port. The tablet has stereo speakers and two onboard microphones.

Like the global version, this model has 5G connectivity (which will be useful soon). Additionally, the phone offers Wi-Fi 5 (ac) and Bluetooth 5.1, but lacks NFC.

We have mentioned similar models, such as the Moto G82, for example. It uses the same Snapdragon 695 chipset (6/8 GB of RAM + 128 GB of storage) and the 50 + 8 + 2 MP camera is the same. The display is different, a 6.6-inch AMOLED panel with a 120 Hz refresh rate and the 5,000 mAh battery charges faster at 30 W. There is also the Moto G71s, which is almost identical to the G82.
