We’ve already heard details about the upcoming Exynos 2400 flagship, but it seems Samsung is also working on what is likely the Exynos 2300.

Last we heard about the Exynos 2300, it was rumored to have a rather strange 9-core CPU configuration, including one main Cortex-X3 core, clocked at up to 3.09GHz, four Cortex-A715 cores, running at 2.65 GHz and four Cortex -A510, with a maximum frequency of 2.1 GHz. A very similar 1 + 4 + 4 chip has now appeared in a mysterious Samsung device on GeekBench SM-S919O model number. While the reported CPU frequencies do not match those expected, this is quite normal for pre-production hardware. The actual base configuration is much more significant and points to a currently unannounced chip, as the Exynos 2200 uses a 1+3+4 configuration, while the Exynos 2400 is expected to carry a 1+2+3+4 configuration with a Cortex-X4 at the helm.

The only other thing we know about the rumored Exynos 2300 is that it will use a semi-design based on AMD’s RDNA2 architecture for its GPU. Anything beyond that is speculation, but since we’re already speculating, we can potentially hope to see this new chip inside the upcoming Galaxy S23 FE instead of the rumored Exynos 2200. Only time will tell.
