When Apple first introduced a larger iPhone, it called it “Plus”, then in 2018 it switched to “Max”. This is why everyone so far has assumed that the new class of iPhone – a large model that isn’t a Pro – will be called the “iPhone 14 Max”.
However, this may not be true. Loser Tommy Boi discovered protective cases for an “iPhone 14 Plus”. You can view some of the options here. Of course, this is a third-party case maker, so it has no say in what Apple calls its new phone.

However, there’s no reason to casually name the case using terminology that hasn’t been used since 2017 unless the case makers know something we don’t. ESR isn’t even alone in using the name “Plus”, CASETiFY has also briefly listed the iPhone 14 cases, including one for the 14 Plus.
Based on that, the 2022 lineup will be as follows: iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Plus, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. Tune in on September 7 for the official presentation of the iPhone 14 series.
