The Nothing Phone (2) was finally unveiled earlier this week and is only expected to go on sale online on Monday. Before that, some people were able to buy one at various pop-up shops around the world. These folks will be happy to hear that the phone received its first software update today. For those who order the phone online, it will be on hold once you open the box.

The update looks pretty substantial, according to the changelog. You can expect to see some camera-related improvements, such as Portrait mode supporting 2x zoom, Motion capture supported in 50MP mode, HDR effectiveness optimized “across the board”, better photo sharpness at zoom speeds between 4x and 10x, improved camera quality in third-party apps and reduced lag when shooting video, which also get better stabilization algorithm.

Aside from that, this update also brings improvements to battery and charging performance under extreme conditions, better wireless charging and battery sharing consistency, as well as better facial unlock and fingerprint sensor performance.

The bugs related to the expansion of Quick Settings and NFC have been fixed, as well as the general, unnamed ones, and the stability of the network should also be improved. Glyph Composer is now available in the Play Store, allowing you to create and record your own Glyph ringtones.

Finally, you get four new wallpapers, a one-handed mode, reworked Nothing Machine ringtones and notification sounds from your phone (1), and the ability to add your most-used Quick Settings tiles directly to your home or lock screen. The update arrives over the air with a 105MB download.
