A new entry supported by MacRumors suggests that Apple will include the Action button on all four iPhone 16 series devices. The successor, the mute switch, was exclusive to this year’s iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max models, but it looks like Apple will add it now to the standard iPhone 16 and 16 Plus. The Action button on the iPhone 16 series is also said to be capacitive rather than a mechanical switch with force sensor feedback similar to the TouchID sensors on older iPhones and the Force Touch trackpad on MacBooks.

The entire iPhone 16 lineup is said to feature the action button

The new Action button on the iPhone 16 series will be joined by a Capacitive Capture button located on the right side below the Power button. Apple is said to be experimenting with different sizes for the Action button on the iPhone 16 with some designs featuring larger buttons than that of the iPhone 15 Pro and 15 Pro Max. MacRumors also shares that the next generation iPhone SE, which will says it will launch in 2025, it will also feature the Action button.
