According to a new report by The Elect, Apple is preparing to expand the pill-shaped cutout of Dynamic Island from the iPhone 14 Pro series to all iPhone 15 models, including the non-Pro iPhone 15 and 15 Plus. The new publishing sites that Apple has already placed orders at its component suppliers, including Samsung Display, which in turn has ordered KRW 24.1 billion ($19.3 million) worth of equipment from South Korean firm Philoptics. The order is reportedly for engraving equipment used for the production of Dynamic Island displays.

Samsung Display is expected to contract more companies in the future to help manage Apple’s increased demand for Dynamic Island displays. Talking about the iPhone’s display technology, The Elec also believes that Apple may finally offer a Face ID Under Display (UD) solution for the iPhone 16 Pro series. No further details on how the full screen solution would be done were shared. .

Previous rumors have suggested that Samsung Display may be partnering with OTI Lumionics, which is developing a new generation of UD cameras with proprietary organic cathode patterning material for optimal clarity above the camera and sensors. These rumors have speculated that we could see the UD Face ID solution on the iPhone 15 Pro series, though that seems unlikely.
