A week ago the upcoming Poco X5 was spotted in the hands of a cricket star, but did you know that a Pro version is also on the way? This was new to us too, but a European retailer has already listed the device as “coming soon” and published a nearly complete spec sheet.

The Xiaomi Poco X5 Pro it has a 6.67″ AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 px (20:9), according to the retailer. The refresh rate is not mentioned, sadly, but it should be 120Hz like the Poco X4 Pro.

Either way, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 778G, a solid all-around upgrade over the 695 found inside the X4 Pro. The retailer lists two memory configurations: 6/128GB and 8/256GB, both featuring of a microSD card slot. The phone apparently runs Android 12 with MIUI 14 for Poco.

The main camera features a large 108MP 1/1.52” (0.7µm pixel) image sensor with f/1.9 aperture like last year’s model. Thanks to the updated chipset, however, 4K video can now be recorded (at 30fps, but still). The other cameras on the back are an 8MP (118°) ultra-wide angle and a 2MP macro. At the front, a 16MP selfie camera.

The power system is the same as before with a large 5,000mAh battery and 67W wired-only charging. For protection, there’s Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and an IP68 rating – that last part doesn’t sound like MO by Poco, so it could be an error on the spec sheet (the X4 Pro is only rated for IP53).

The price is not yet known. At launch, the X4 Pro cost €300 for the 6/128GB model (slightly less with early bird prices) and €350 for the 8/256GB one. Overall, the Poco X5 Pro doesn’t seem to change much, but the Snapdragon 778G will have a big impact on performance. As for the colors, you’ll have three choices: Blue, Black and, of course, Little Yellow.

The dealer also lists the details for the Xiaomi Little X5. This one sticks to the Snapdragon 695 (as seen in Geekbench) and has a 6.67-inch AMOLED display (1,080 x 2,400px) with 120Hz refresh rate, which makes us think the Pro also has a 120Hz display. The base X5 only has an IP54 rating, which seems more believable.

This vanilla model is similar to the Pro, albeit with some downgrades, starting with the 48 MP main camera, to which are still added an 8 MP ultra wide angle (118°) and a 2 MP macro (don’t count on the 4K though ). The selfie camera has dropped to 13MP.

Another change concerns the battery: the capacity remains at 5,000 mAh, the charging speed drops to 33 W.

Like its sibling, the Poco X5 is listed in 6/128GB and 8/256GB configurations (expandable with a microSD). There’s no pricing information, and no Poco X4 to use as a guide. The X5 offers three color choices: green, blue and black.

Note: The image of the Poco X5 Pro looks identical to the X4 Pro. Maybe Xiaomi didn’t change the design, maybe the retailer reused an old image. The specifications seem very close to the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed.

As for the vanilla X5, the image looks remarkably like the Redmi K50i even though the specs have little in common (plus, the listed colors don’t match the images). The specifications are much closer to the Redmi Note 12, apart from the chipset.
