You know a phone is a cut above its peers when it has a Plus attached to its Pro. That’s exactly what the Tecno Spark 20 Pro+ is: the best of the Spark 20 family in both looks and specs.
For starters, the Pro+ has an AMOLED display, although it shares the 6.78-inch diagonal 1080x2436px resolution and 120Hz refresh rate with the Spark 20 Pro’s IPS LCD.
The other change is the chipset, the Pro+ has a MediaTek Helio G99 Ultimate compared to the regular Helio G99 of the Pro. What makes the Ultimate better is not very clear as the CPU and GPU clocks match, but with a name of the genre just has to be better, right?
Finally, the Tecno Spark 20 Pro+ runs Android 14 out of the box, which is not the case with the Spark 20 Pro booting Android 13.
The Tecno Spark 20 Pro+ is a nice looking phone
Going beyond the comparisons, the Tecno Spark 20 Pro+ is a very nice phone and comes in a well-equipped box. There’s a case, a glass screen protector curved to fit the phone’s display, USB-C earphones, a 33W charger, and a USB-A to USB-C cable.
The Tecno Spark 20 Pro+ we have is the Magic Skin Green model and has a faux leather finish on the back. The gold accented frame and camera island match the green perfectly and you would never guess that the frame is plastic.
On the back there is an all-encompassing looking camera system which is unfortunately just a 108MP main camera and a couple of auxiliary sensors. On the plus side, the 108MP unit has a 1/1.67-inch sensor, an f/1.75 aperture, and 3x in-sensor zoom.
