Tecno has just concluded its first “World of TECNOlogy” event, which took place over the weekend. At that event the company confirmed that the two Pova 5 phones along with the Megabook T1 laptop are coming to India soon.
Tecno Pova 5 and Pova 5 Pro will be sold through Amazon India starting August 22nd (Tuesday next week). Unfortunately, there are no official prices yet, and Amazon has yet to release landing pages for these two.
Tecno Pova 5 and Pova 5 Pro will arrive in India next week
As a quick refresher on the two phones, they’re built around 6.78-inch 120Hz (120Hz, FHD+) IPS LCDs and have 50MP main cameras (but no ultrawide modules). The Pova 5 is powered by a Helio G99 chipset, while the Pova 5 Pro moves to 5G with the faster Dimension 6080 chip.
The Pro model is distinguished by the Arc interface, three LED strips on the back that can light up in a different color for notifications and even game events. The Vanilla model also has its appeal, namely the larger 6,000mAh battery with 45W charging (50% in 21 minutes), while the Pro model has a 5,000mAh battery with 68W charging (50% in 15 minutes).

The Pova 5 was announced in late June with plans to ship it to Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Latin America. The Pova 5 Pro arrived a few days later on August 1st with the same markets in mind. Note that Pova 5 phones sold in India will also be manufactured in India.
There is also the laptop, the Tecno Megabook T1. This was announced at the IFA last year. It is a slim 15.6-inch laptop measuring 14.8 mm (0.58 inch) and weighing 1.48 kg (3.26 lbs). While its aluminum body is lightweight, it still houses a 70Wh battery that lasts over 17 hours between charges (which is done with a 65W GaN charger). The T1 is powered by an 11th Generation Intel Core processor with 12GB/16GB RAM and 512GB/1TB SSD. The IPS LCD display has 100% sRGB coverage and 350 nits brightness with DC dimming.
