Sony’s WH-1000X series headphones have established themselves as one of the best all-around noise canceling headphones, and their fifth generation has been out for nearly a year. The XM5s were only available in black and silver colors until yesterday when Sony announced the new Midnight Blue version alongside its latest TWS earphones: the WF-C700N.
The new Midnight Blue XM5s are here with us today for a quick look. The new color is a very dark shade of blue, which can be described as indigo blue. They feature the same smudge-prone matte texture as the other XM5 variants and have copper accents on the Sony logo and hinges on the case.
The package includes the headphones, the matching case, a black USB-C cable for charging and a 3.5 mm audio jack cable with L-shaped connector. The earcups are painted in Midnight Blue to match the rest of the headphones .
Everything else here is identical to the WH-1000XM5 we reviewed last year. You can check out our detailed review of the Sony WH-1000XM5 for all the details on what they sound like and how well they cut through the hype around you.
