Sharp announced its 2022 flagship with the Aquos 7, a direct successor to last year’s Aquos R6 which brought a huge 1 “camera sensor developed in collaboration with Leica. This year’s model has the same. huge sensor size and has the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset and slightly modified design.
Additionally, Sharp also announced a new midranger with the all-new Aquos Wish 2. That phone is powered by the Snapdragon 695 and boots Android 12 out of the box. Both new devices will be exclusive to Japan.
Sharp Aquos R7 offers a 6.6-inch OLED Pro IGZO with FHD + resolution and an adaptive refresh rate of 240Hz. Sharp is also touting an impressive 2,000 nits peak brightness, 10-bit color support and Dolby Vision. The front and back are both protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The panel also houses an under-display fingerprint reader and a 12.6MP selfie cam.

The most interesting bits are on the back where we have a new 47 MP main camera with a huge 1 “sensor which Sharp says can collect up to 1.8 times more light than last year’s Aquos R6. -Developed by Sharp and Leica offers a seven-element Leica Summicron lens, an F / 1.9 aperture and a focal length of 19mm. The only other camera sensor on the back is a 1.9MP vertical sensor.

Sharp offers the Aquos 7 in a single 12GB RAM and 256GB storage option. The phone is IP68 certified, boots Android 12, and packs a 5,000mAh battery.
Sharp Aquos R7 is available in black and silver and will be available in Japan from July. Prices and availability were not yet detailed.
The Sharp Aquos Wish2 is a Snapdragon 695-powered midranger with a 5.7-inch HD + LCD display and a 3,730mAh battery. Sharp claims 35% of the Aquos Wish2’s housing is made from recycled plastic. The phone is also IP68 rated and runs Android 12.
It boasts a single 13MP main cam on the back and an 8MP selfie cam on the front. Aquos Wish2 is available in white, anthracite, blue and coral colors. Prices and availability were not yet detailed.
