Samsung today announced that its new software update for the Galaxy S22 series will bring a number of improvements to the trio’s cameras. Hyperlapse videos will be telephoto-enabled and the QR scanner will be improved for easier navigation.
Samsung camera app improvements
The Hyperlapse option in the Camera app offered recording with wide and ultrawide cameras, but a third 3x option is now on the way. The company also confirmed that Astro Hyperlapse is currently in development, a fantastic feature that will allow users to have even more artistic photos of the night sky.
The QR scanner will get a larger scan area and offer the tap to scan if the app can’t find the code by itself. There was also a bug that is now being fixed: you couldn’t just ignore the message behind the QR code and had to close the app or follow the URL.
Other improvements concern HDR performance and color reproduction. Memory usage and AI performance in Photo, Video and Night modes have also been optimized. Stabilization will also be further improved.
These updates from Samsung are for the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22 + and Galaxy S22 Ultra smartphones. We can only hope that these improvements also reach the previous flagship series.
