Samsung has the Expert RAW app for photography experts, but the company’s large audience means that not all Galaxy users know what all watch faces are for. The new Galaxy Enhance-X app is an “AI photo upscaler and magic editor” for them.
As the name suggests, this is an existing photo editor rather than a camera app like Expert RAW. They could be photos you took with your phone but don’t like how they turned out, or photos taken with older phones or cameras.
Samsung’s Galaxy Enhance-X app can reduce blur and brighten photos
AI-based algorithms can remove blur or add some blur for a portrait effect, brighten dark photos or simulate HDR, can sharpen images, remove reflections, and even apply a Beauty mode.
An interesting feature removes the moiré effect that occurs when taking a photo of a digital screen. Some options allow you to define the strength of the effect and there is a sliding window showing a before and after comparison. Also, both the original and the processed image are stored in the gallery, so you can go back and try again if you decide you don’t like the result.
Some of these effects are useful for beautifying photos taken with older, less capable cameras. This also includes the AI upscaler, which can zoom a low-resolution image up to 2x or 3x its original size.
It can also remove moiré patterns from digital screens and high-end images
The Galaxy Enhance-X app is available in the Galaxy app store. There is a copy on APK Mirror as well.
