It’s been a while since Samsung updated its Galaxy Tab A budget line. According to a new leak, a new Tab A7 (2022) model is just around the corner. The leak offers a look at the tablet’s rather uninspiring design. It honestly looks like a spitting image of the Galaxy Tab A7 10.4 2020 model from both the front and back.

In fact, Samsung may actually reuse some parts and perhaps even the housing of the device since, like its 2020 predecessor, the new Tab A7 (2022) is said to be equipped with a 10.4-inch, 1200 x LCD display. 2000 pixels, a single 8MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie, plus a 7,040mAh battery. All these specifications are carried forward.

One thing that is presumably changing in the new model is the chipset. The 2022 tablet is said to come with a UNISOC T618, a 12nm part, made on a TSMC FinFET process, with two ARM Cortex-A75 cores clocked at up to 2.0GHz and six Cortex-A55, also up to 2.0 GHz, a Mali G52MP2 GPU, and optional LTE connectivity. It replaces the Snapdragon 662 in the Tab A7 2020 model, which could actually be a downgrade depending on your point of view. The new Tab A7 (2022) is said to have 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.

On a more positive note, the new Galaxy Tab A7 (2022) could launch at a lower price than its predecessor. The source suggests 199 euros such as MSRP.
