Samsung has announced its own generative artificial intelligence model, called Gauss. The AI model built into the device consists of Samsung Gauss Language, Samsung Gauss Code and Samsung Gauss Image, each part tailored to its specific task.
Samsung Gauss Language is a generative language model capable of composing emails, summarizing documents and translating content. It can also enable smarter control of devices (think Google Home or Amazon Alexa).
Samsung Gauss Code uses the code.i coding assistant, which allows developers to quickly and easily code, perform code description, and generate test cases.
Samsung Gauss Image is a generative image model that can create and edit images, change their style, and even convert low-resolution images to high-resolution.
Samsung Gauss is named in honor of Carl Friedrich Gauss, the legendary mathematician who established the theory of normal distribution (the Gaussian process), considered the backbone of artificial intelligence.
Samsung Gauss will be an integral part of the Galaxy S24 series when it launches in January 2024. Gauss is already used by Samsung employees to increase productivity, the company says.
