The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 will arrive in late July according to the latest reports and there is already a good amount of information about it, so we have decided to organize it here.
Some things about the Galaxy Z Fold5 are obvious at this point. It will be a book-style foldout with dual displays capable of 120Hz, a triple camera on the back, the best possible chipset inside, and IPX8 waterproofing.
New hinge
Let’s start with the design. The biggest complaint when it comes to the Galaxy Z Fold is the void that is left when you close the phone. Reports claim that Samsung is finally ready to fix this with a new hinge design that will close flat.
The new gapless design is more or less confirmed at this point. And the new hinge addresses the other complaint with the Galaxy Z Fold series (and most of its competitors): the crease in the center of the display. The new hinge mechanism will see the foldable display form a teardrop shape within the hinge when folded, eliminating the need for a fold. We’ve already seen similar approaches with the Moto Razr and Oppo Find N series.

Body and display
Those hoping for a more compact Galaxy Z Fold5 than the Z Fold4 are apparently out of luck. Reports suggest the new foldout will be very similar in size to the current one.
The Z Fold5 will measure 154.9 x 129.9 x 6.1mm when unfolded and 154.9 x 67.1 x 13.4mm when folded. The upcoming device is said to weigh 254 grams, which is 9 grams less than the Z Fold4.

Several reports indicate that the external display maintains the 6.2-inch diagonal like that of the Galaxy Z Fold4. Whether it will have the same tall and narrow proportions remains to be seen.
Nothing is known yet about the specifics of the internal display, but there is good reason to believe that it will be a 7.6-inch panel like the current one.

No S Pen slot
It’s very certain that the Galaxy Z Fold5’s internal screen will support S Pen input, but the phone won’t have a built-in stylus slot. Fitting one would require a drastic redesign, and the Fold5 is clearly shaping up to be more of an evolutionary step.
Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold5 will use the same Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 for Galaxy as the Galaxy S23 Ultra. Last year, the S22 Ultra had an Exynos 2200 or a Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, while the Galaxy Z Fold4 used the more efficient Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1, it seems that this year there will be no discrepancies in chipsets.
Cameras
Samsung will most likely keep the 50MP ISOCELL GN3 sensor from the Galaxy Z Fold4 as the main unit for the Galaxy Z Fold5.
This leaves room for speculation whether Samsung will make improvements to the dual selfie cameras, ultrawide and 3x zoom.
