After surviving a torture test last month, today is the time to take apart Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip5. It is dismantled, little by little. Having a foldable screen makes things interesting and difficult at the same time, as with “normal” phones you can usually just put them back together at the end and they still work.

But foldables have many fragile parts inside them, so you have to be very careful while “digging” into the phone. See for yourself what the result will be in the video below.

Spoiler alert: completely disassembling and restoring the Flip5 to its “before” state is no easy job, but in this case it was accomplished by Zack from JerryRigEverythingwho, interestingly, plans to buy a Flip5 for himself and use it for the next few years, if it can survive in his pocket for that long, of course.

It will be the longest durability test we’ve ever done and we can’t wait to see the results. Meanwhile, with the Galaxy Z Flip5 Samsung seems to be demonstrating that the days when foldables were much more fragile than slab devices are over. There’s still a difference, of course, but perhaps it’s not as huge as you might have expected.

If you’re interested in learning more about the Flip5, don’t miss our in-depth review.
