Since 2021, Samsung has launched Ultra models in its Galaxy S range with four rear cameras, two of which are telephoto: a 3x telephoto lens joined by a 10x periscope telephoto camera. But second reliable informant Ice universethat could change next year with the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
The tipster claims that Samsung removed the 3x telephoto lens from the Galaxy S24 Ultra and “merged” it into the periscope telephoto lens. While Ice universe it doesn’t get more specific than that, another tipster claims that Samsung ditched the 3x telephoto lens from the Galaxy S24 Ultra and added a variable folded telephoto lens with 3x to 10x zoom.
Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra
Last December, Ice universe said Samsung will replace the Galaxy S24 Ultra’s telephoto sensor seen on previous models and “adopt a new solution.” Well, this 3-10x variable folded telephoto lens might be the new solution.
While this information comes from multiple sources, it’s best to take it with a grain of salt and wait for more evidence to be sure Samsung removes the 3x telephoto lens from the Galaxy S24 Ultra as it’s more than six months away from its unveiling and plans could always change.
