As we’ve said several times, Samsung has gotten really good at releasing timely updates to big new versions of Android for its devices, but they’re not all roses: due to the number of phones it launches each year, the process inevitably takes many, many. months.

We report the fact that the Galaxy M22 launched in October 2021 (when Android 12 was already official) is only now coming to the forefront and finally getting its taste of Android 12 with One UI 4.1 on top. So at least it’s getting the latest iteration of Samsung’s skin. It also gets the April 2022 security patch, which is no longer current, but for a low-end device we’re sorry.

Samsung Galaxy M22 receives Android 12 update with One UI 4.1

Speaking of low-end, due to its convenient internals, the Galaxy M22 runs the Core version of One UI, meaning some of the features available in high-end devices won’t be available here. It’s been the same since it launched, we’re just reminding you.

The update to Android 12 comes with the build number M225FVXXU4BFD8 in both Saudi Arabia and the UAE, which are the only two countries where it has been launched so far. Hopefully the new software will spread further soon.
