Going back to the Mark 3, when we interviewed you last year, the fraction of people who thought it was too expensive was smaller and a lot more people were preparing to buy one. However, this year’s Xperia 1 IV survey also shows a prevailing opinion that the price is too high. A sign of the times, perhaps?
There have been plenty of reasons as to why the Xperia 5 IV isn’t worth what Sony wants. Limited software support is great – Sony is lousy compared to Android makers, no matter Apple.
The choice of the original Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is another, especially considering how small the gap will be between the arrival of the Mark 4 (later this month) and the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 (to be announced in November with the phones to follow. soon).
The step backwards in the telephoto department did not go unnoticed either. Also, while most love the lack of holes and notches on the Xperia, not everyone is as enamored with the 21: 9 aspect ratio as Sony is.
But no one can beat the Mark 4 for not having a 3.5mm jack or microSD slot or now even support for wireless charging. That’s why a good 20% of voters are ready to buy the phone, even if it is expensive.
