The Xiaomi 13 will be launched this Sunday and a company vice president has revealed that it will be more powerful than gaming phones. Lu Weibing, also known by his Western name William Lu, said that in 2023 we won’t need dedicated devices to play games on Android, and this trend is “destined to die”.

The vice president is also the president of Xiaomi China and the brand manager of Redmi, which means that we shouldn’t expect the Redmi K60 Gaming device, as the regular Redmi K60 should suffice for all customers’ gaming needs.

The Redmi K60 series is already in production, as some spy photos have revealed. The lineup will consist of a Redmi K60E, confirmed to have the Dimension 8200 chipset developed with gaming in mind; a vanilla Redmi K60 with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chip and a Redmi K60 Pro with Qualcomm’s latest, the current flagship Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

Earlier, Lu said that Dynamic Island is being tested by Xiaomi software development team, so we may see Apple-like notification panel in Redmi K60 phones, though selfie cameras remain in the corner.
