Realme’s superpower phone arrived on schedule: to sum up the Realme GT5, we just need to tell you that its top version has 24GB RAM and 240W fast charging. And that top-end version isn’t much more expensive than the base model , which is more understated but still powerful.
Realm GT5
There are two versions of the phone: 150W and 240W. The former comes with 12/256GB or 16/512GB memory configuration, which costs CNY 3,000 or CNY 3,300 respectively (a currency conversion for reference: $410 /€380/₹34,500 and $450/€420/₹38,000).

The 240W version has a single memory configuration with 24GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. This model costs CNY 3,800 (that’s $520/$480/₹43,500). It should be noted that the different charging systems are combined with different battery capacities: 5,240 mAh for the 150 W one and 4,600 mAh for the 240 W one.

Let’s talk about the 240W charging system. If the battery is flat, connecting it for just 80 seconds will get you to 20%. The 150W version is also no different: despite the larger battery capacity that needs to be filled, it can reach 50% in just 7 minutes.
Whatever the version of Realme GT5, you will get a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset (the original one). The heat is handled by a 9-layer cooling system with a 20,827mm² vapor chamber.
Moving on to the display, it is a 6.74-inch flat AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1,240 x 2,772 px (20:9). The display reproduces 10-bit colors and has 100% coverage of DCI-P3. Its peak brightness is 1,400 nits and it uses high-frequency PWM dimming at 2,160Hz.
The display runs at a 144Hz refresh rate. However, the Adreno GPU doesn’t have to do all the heavy lifting to render the graphics as it is paired with an X7 display chip that does frame insertion to boost the FPS of the game.
On the back we find the 50 MP main camera based on a Sony IMX890 sensor (1/1.56″). This 24mm lens has an f/1.9 aperture and OIS. Next to it is a 112° ultra-wide-angle camera with 8MP resolution, as well as a 2MP macro module. Also nearby is the LED light that frames the Snapdragon logo, it can light up in 26 colors and has 5 levels of brightness adjustment. The selfie camera uses a 16MP sensor (S5K3P9).
Let’s talk about connectivity for a moment. The GT5 is a dual-SIM 5G phone. It is also equipped with four Wi-Fi antennas with Wi-Fi 7 support. There is also a Bluetooth antenna (supporting version 5.3) with aptX HD, LHDC, LDAC and LC3 audio codecs.
Some other notable features include stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos, as well as an X-axis linear motor for haptic feedback. The phone is Hi-Res Audio and Dolby certified, but lacks a 3.5mm wired headphone jack. On the front there is a fingerprint reader with a response time of 0.25s. Positioning is managed by 3-band GPS (L1+L2+L5).
Both versions of the Realme GT5 are now available for pre-order at the Realme Chinese store, sales will start on September 4th (next Monday). Two colors to choose from: Silver with a mirror finish and Green with a matte finish.
