Oppo Thailand held an event today, showcasing the Reno8 series and, together with Reno8 and Reno8 Pro with Marisilicon NPU, we saw a completely new phone: the Oppo Reno8 Z 5G.
Well mostly new: It has the same specs as the Reno7 Z 5G, right down to the chipset and memory configuration, but now comes with a redesigned back and a bright Dawnlight Gold color.
The phone is powered by a Snapdragon 695 and is offered in Thailand with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The 6.43 “OLED screen with Full HD + resolution and an underlying fingerprint scanner is retained.
The cameras are also the same: 64MP main, 2MP macro, 2MP depth sensor. The Reno8 Z 5G is advertised as a “Portrait Expert”, while the Reno7 Z 5G was sold in Thailand under the tagline “Frame yourself”, which is essentially the same – after all, the front camera is also the same from 16 MP f / 2.4 shooter.
This phone is part of the Reno8 series, which means the design is reminiscent of other Reno8 phones – the camera island now extends to the frame, and apparently Oppo used a different material because the Reno8 Z is slightly thicker. and heavier than the Reno7 Z.
The battery has remained the same: 4,500mAh of capacity with 33W charging support, while the UI is now ColorOS 12.1, based on Android 12.
Oppo also sells the Reno8 Z 5G in black color. Pre-orders start today and will continue until next Sunday, August 14th. After that, the open sales begin and the price of the phone is 12,990 THB, which is around $ 360 / € 355.
