Last month Oppo announced its latest Reno family of mid-range smartphones for the Chinese market: Reno8, Reno8 Pro and Reno8 Pro +. In case you’re wondering why we haven’t reviewed any of them yet, it’s because they’re meant for the Chinese market. That said, an international launch usually follows the Reno series by a few months, meaning these Reno8 models could arrive in other markets before the end of the year.

When they do, you may be confused, as it turns out that the Reno8 Pro + may in fact be sold outside of China as the Reno8 Pro, losing the “+” on its journey for some reason. This was revealed through a benchmark list for the Oppo CPH2357, which is related to the Reno8 Pro name without the “+”.

Oppo Reno8 Pro + is likely to be launched internationally renamed Reno8 Pro

It ran Geekbench with the MediaTek Dimensity 8100 SoC at the helm, which is the chip used by the Reno8 Pro + in China (the Reno8 Pro has the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 instead). This upcoming international Reno8 Pro was tested with 12GB of RAM and Android 12 on board. It managed to get a score of 898 single-core and 3,555 multi-core, although these shouldn’t be taken too seriously as we’re talking about a prototype.

It was previously rumored that the Reno8 Pro + would not reach India, but now it turns out that it could simply mean it won’t launch there under that name – it could be called the Reno8 Pro instead.

The Reno8 Pro + for China, which may end up being released internationally as the Reno8 Pro, has a 6.7 “120Hz 1080×2412 AMOLED touchscreen, triple rear camera system (50MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP macro), a 32MP selfie camera with autofocus and a 4,500mAh battery with support for 80W fast charging.
