Oppo today announced its latest flagship: Find X7 Ultra. The phone brings some firsts to the smartphone industry, including the world’s first dual-periscope telephoto cameras and the first 1-inch Sony LYT-900 sensor device.
The tuning of the camera was once again carried out in collaboration with the Swedish company Hasselblad. The Find X7 Ultra’s quad-cam setup brings the so-called HyperTone engine which promises to maintain the natural look of your photos without compromising quality.
Oppo has inserted a 6.82″ 120 Hz LTPO OLED with QHD+ resolution on the front. It has a peak brightness of up to 4,500 nits and supports ProXDR, which is Oppo’s version of the Ultra HDR image format.
The chipset is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.0 storage.
The cameras are the key selling point of the Find X7 Ultra, and for a reason. Oppo has packed four powerful 50MP sensors, with the second-generation Sony LYT-900 1-inch stacked sensor inside the large camera. It has an f/1.8 aperture and OIS.
The ultra-wide-angle lens is another new Sony sensor: LYT-600 with a size of 1/1.95″ and an equivalent focal length of 14mm. It has an f/2.0 aperture and autofocus so you can shoot objects up to 4cm.

On top of that, the X7 Ultra has a 135mm 6x telephoto lens with a 1/2.51” Sony IMX858 sensor. It also has OIS and can focus from 35cm.

Oppo says the quad-cam setup offers smooth zoom between 14mm and 270mm, without a noticeable degradation in image quality.

The Find X7 Ultra’s camera app will feature a Master mode, developed with Hasselblad. It’s an advanced Pro mode that will let you adjust all image parameters and enable RAW shooting. A 16-bit RAW MAX mode will arrive in March with a software update.

The two-tone design of the previous series has evolved and now seems better designed. There are three color options: ocean blue, sepia brown and custom black.
The sad thing is that the Oppo Find X7 Ultra will only be available in China for now. Prices and on-sale dates will be confirmed later today.
