Oppo Find N2 for review

The Oppo Find N2 is official and we are delighted to welcome it to our office.

Before we get to all the ways Oppo has improved the second-generation foldable, let’s get the unboxing out of the way. The Oppo Find N2 is well stocked, better than its predecessor.

There’s a 67W charger, a USB cable, a cleaning cloth, and a two-piece case.

Compared to its predecessor, the Oppo Find N2 is slightly narrower – 72.6mm vs 73mm, slightly thinner – 14.6mm/7.4mm vs 15.9mm/8.0mm, and lighter – 233g vs 275g.

Weight is the most impressive improvement and is due to the new hinge. It has fewer parts – 100, down from 138 – and uses more advanced materials.

Both displays look the same, but have optimized aspect ratios that make them more square than before. The display on the lid is still 5.54-inch but now supports a 120Hz refresh rate, while the internal display is a 7.1-inch diagonal with the same high refresh rate.

While the Oppo Find N was rounded and glossy, the Find N2 has a flatter bezel that is matte. It improves handling and looks better too.

Like its predecessor, the Oppo Find N2 offers a triple camera and two selfie cameras. The main module has been upgraded to a Sony IMX890, a 50MP 1/1.56″ sensor that sits behind a 24mm f/1.8 lens with OIS. This replaces the IMX766 of the same size.

The ultrawide camera got an even bigger upgrade with the IMX581 48MP, 1/2″ sensor behind a 14mm f/2.2 lens. As a reminder, the original N had a 16MP 1/3.09 sensor Then there’s the telephoto lens, which has made the switch to the 32MP (1/2.74”, from 13MP 1/3.4”) IMX709 sensor.

There apparently wasn’t enough time to fit the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 inside the Find N2, so it got a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 instead. It’s still a very capable chip, so you shouldn’t have to worry about performance.

The Oppo Find N2 lacks one feature of its predecessor: wireless charging. It’s a bit of a disappointment, but not as much as the lack of availability outside of China. We hope Oppo brings Find N2 to the global market together with Find N2 Flip.
