The nubia Red Magic 8S Pro has appeared recently, confirming that it will sport the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 type chipset with overclocked CPU. A number of reports emerged from China today, claiming the new phone will arrive on July 5, alongside a gaming-oriented tablet, a first for the Red Magic series.

It’s not the first time we’ve heard of an Android tablet from the ZTE-owned nubia brand, but now we have a date in two weeks that we’re looking forward to. There is almost no information on the list. At the same time, the phone should be the same as the nubia Red Magic 8 Pro: ultra-fast wired charging, active cooling fan and software performance optimizations.
The chipset is reportedly a new Qualcomm product that is expected to launch in the next couple of weeks. The name will likely be Snapdragon 8+ Gen 2, similar to last year’s Gen 1 mid-year changes. We haven’t heard of an upcoming summer update yet; we only know that the Gen 3 flagship chipset is expected in late October.
